Email from U.S. Attorney Responding to Motion to Transfer Lien to Proceeds

6 Mar

On January 7, 2014, Joseph W. Grier, III, Receiver, filed a motion to approve a sale of a condominium known as 2222 Hickory Run. On the eve of the closing for this condominium, the Receiver discovered that a lien had been placed on the condominium, which lien ultimately caused the closing not to occur. Accordingly, the Receiver filed a motion to transfer liens, if any, to the proceeds of any sale of the condominium.

Although no formal objection has been filed to the Receiver’s motion, the Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina sent attorneys for the Receiver the email linked below, which email was subsequently forwarded to the U.S. District Court.
